samuilife.com is an information site. It describes places to stay, eat and spend time on Koh Samui, and it lists the businesses behind them.

No booking, reservation or payment is made on this site. There is no user account and no login. Where a stay can be booked, the link leads to the operator's own site or to a booking platform, and any contract you enter is with that operator or platform, under their terms.

Commercial relationships

Some outbound links to booking platforms are affiliate links. If you book through one, the platform may pay us a commission. This costs you nothing and does not change the price you pay. It does not decide what appears on this site or in what order.

1. Scope

These terms govern your use of samuilife.com, operated by REPLACE-ENTITY-NAME ("we", "us"). By using the site you accept them. If you do not, please do not use the site.

2. What the site does, and what it does not do

The site is informational. It describes accommodation, dining and activities on Koh Samui.

• We do not take bookings, reservations or payments.
• We do not hold accounts, and there is nothing to log in to.
• We are not a travel agent, tour operator or booking intermediary.
• Where you can book, the link takes you to the operator or to a booking platform, and the contract is between you and them.

Any cancellation, refund, complaint or dispute about a stay is a matter for the operator or platform you booked with, under their terms.

3. Accuracy

We take care with what we publish and correct errors when we find them. Even so, prices, availability, opening times, distances and descriptions change without notice and are indicative only. Always confirm on the operator's own listing before you travel or commit money.

Photographs are illustrative. Where an image is not of the specific property described, it is captioned accordingly.

4. Commercial relationships

Some links are affiliate links and may earn us a commission from the booking platform at no cost to you. Some properties are operated by us; those pages say so. Neither fact changes what we write or the order in which things appear.

5. Intellectual property

The site's text, structure, design, code and original graphics belong to REPLACE-ENTITY-NAME. You may read, print and share pages for personal use. You may not republish, resell, scrape or systematically copy the content, or use it to train automated systems, without written permission.

Trade marks and business names belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

6. Acceptable use

• Do not attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
• Do not use automated tools to harvest content at scale.
• Do not send unlawful, misleading or abusive material through our contact channels.

7. Liability

The site is provided as it is. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on information here, from a booking made with a third party, or from any interruption to the site.

Nothing here excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes

We may change the site and these terms. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand, and the Thai courts have jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom or another jurisdiction whose consumer-protection law grants you rights that cannot be set aside by contract, those rights are unaffected by this clause.

Who is responsible

We process personal data under Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Where we offer this site to visitors in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we also apply the GDPR and the rights it gives you.

What we collect

Server logs

Our hosting provider records standard technical data for every request: IP address, time, page requested, referring page, browser and operating system. This is used to run and secure the site, not to profile you. Legal basis: legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) / necessity for our lawful operation (PDPA s. 24). Retention: REPLACE-LOG-RETENTION.

Messages you send us

If you email us or use a contact form, we receive what you write, your email address, and anything else you choose to include. We use it to answer you and nothing else. We do not use it for marketing and we do not pass it on. Legal basis: steps at your request prior to a possible contract, and our legitimate interest in replying. Retention: REPLACE-MESSAGE-RETENTION.

The contact form is hosted on our own server. It is not a third-party form service and its contents are not sent to one.

What we do not collect

• No cookies of any kind.
• No analytics, no pixels, no advertising or remarketing tags.
• No accounts, passwords or payment data — bookings and payments happen entirely on the operator's or platform's own site.
• No newsletter list unless and until you actively subscribe to one.

Storage on your device

The site keeps two preferences in your browser's local storage — not cookies, and never sent to our server:

Neither identifies you. Clearing your browser's site data removes both.

Third parties that see your IP address

Some parts of the page are loaded from other companies' servers. A request to any of them necessarily reveals your IP address and browser to that company. We set no cookies through them, but we cannot control what they log.

Transfers outside Thailand and the EEA rely on the recipients' own safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose data only to our hosting provider as processor, and where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under the PDPA and, where it applies, the GDPR, you may ask us to:

• confirm what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
• correct anything inaccurate or incomplete;
• delete it, where we have no continuing reason to keep it;
• restrict or object to a particular use;
• receive it in a portable format;
• withdraw consent, where we relied on consent, without affecting past processing.

Write to REPLACE-PRIVACY-EMAIL. We answer within 30 days. You may also complain to Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee or, in the EEA or UK, to your national supervisory authority.

Children

This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this notice changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where the change affects you, say so on the page.

Why there is no cookie banner

Consent banners exist because sites store or read information on your device for purposes that are not strictly necessary — usually analytics or advertising. This site does neither, so the requirement does not arise.

What is stored on your device

Two values are kept in local storage, which is separate from cookies and is never transmitted to our server. Both exist only because you chose something:

Neither contains personal data and neither can identify you.

Third-party requests

Fonts, the map library and map tiles are loaded from other companies' servers. We do not set cookies through them, but those companies may do so under their own policies, and any request to them reveals your IP address. They are listed, with what each is for, in our privacy notice.

Removing what is stored

Clearing site data for samuilife.com in your browser removes both values. The site keeps working; it simply forgets your theme and language until you set them again.

If this changes

If we ever introduce anything that stores data for a non-essential purpose, we will ask for your consent before it runs, and this page will say what it is and why.
